• Tata Docomo also wins Excellence Award for ‘Enhancing End Customer Experience’ at the Architecture World Summit in the Best Enterprise & IT Architecture in Telecom category

 

Tata Docomo, one of the leading telecom players, today announced that  CIO Mr. Ram Prasad Mamidi has been conferred ‘India Business CIO Award- 2016’ by ICMG, the world’s leading IT Architecture forum, at its Architecture World Summit held in Bangalore. Additionally, the company has won Architecture Excellence Award for its project, ‘Enhancing end-customer experience via SOA implementation for Customer Service Department’ in the Best Enterprise & IT Architecture in Telecom category.

This is a first of its kind award which evaluates the Chief Information Officer basis the high degree of business influence and measurable results using Enterprise & IT Architecture, which he brings to the projects and initiatives. The company has shifted to"Architecture driven" decision-making process helping the CIO to sustain business value, which was acclaimed by iCMG.

 

Under the overarching theme of “Welcome to the World of Comforts” Tata Docomo introduced ‘My Tata Docomo App’ as a technological intervention to enhance end- customer experience. With “self-service” as the key driving force behind this project - My Tata Docomo Mobile App was projected as the “one stop shop” for Tata Docomo customers on their smartphones. This enabled and empowered them to address their needs in a simple and user friendly manner in shortest possible time.  Within the first seven months of the launch, the enhanced Self Service mode via the mobile app saw One Million downloads. The “in-app” payment feature was a resounding success with Millions of Rupees worth of transactions happening in the first month. The app was rated amongst the top 200 apps (across industry), and continues to feature in the top 20 free apps in the “productivity” list of Google play store.
