Here is a disappointing news to Akkineni fans as well Telugu film lovers. The screening committee which decides the India's official entry to the Oscar Awards has not picked up Manam or the other film Minugurulu sent by the Telugu film chamber to represent India at the prestigious Awards. National Award winning Hindi film 'Liar's Dice', starring acclaimed actors Geetanjali Thapa and Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be the India's entry for the best foreign film category at the 87th Academy Awards. A 12-member jury appointed by the Film Federation of India (FFI) have watched all the 30 shortlisted films from various languages and finally selected Liar's Dice as the official entry. Liar's Dice is a Hindi movie directed by a new comer, Malayalam actress Geetu Mohandas. The film is the story of a young tribal mother who along with her three-year-old daughter who takes up the journey in search of her missing husband. On their way, they meet an army deserter, who accompanies them to their destination.  By missing the chance, Manam lost the chance to become the first Telugu film to represent India at the Oscar Awards. Manam is the last film of Thespian Akkineni Nagaeswara Rao. The film has all the three generations of Akkineni family and it ended up as one of the classic films in Tollywood. The movie also amassed 38 Crore in its full run making it the biggest hit ever for Akkineni family. The next Oscar awards is the 87th edition and will take place on February 22nd, 2015. We wish all the best to the team of Liar's dice.
