Gabbar Singh-2 is on cards for more than 2 years. Director Sampath Nandi who delivered a blockbuster with Ram Charan's Racha has been working on the script from then but the movie never materialized. There were several news in the media that 'Gabbar Singh-2 shelved' and 'Director Change for Gabbar Singh-2' since then even though the movie muhurath took place.
Sampath Nandi however is vexed up with Pawan Kalyan stretching this issue for long. He feels that two precious years of his career got wasted due to this project. It is said that Sampath Nandi is silently in talks with Ravi Teja for his next project. Pawan Kalyan came to know about this and wanted to take out Sampath Nandi out of this project and will want to handle this project himself.
It is known that a decade later Pawan Kalyan has directed Johnny as his first direction venture. The film went on to become biggest disaster of his career. But there are some takers as well for the films. So, Pawan Kalyan has got the motivation to direct one more film. Gabbar Singh-2 was told to be a movie in the backdrop of Chambal Valley.
Pawan Kalyan himself involved in the script sessions of the movie along with the director Sampath Nandi due to his special interest on the project.Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music. Pawan Kalyan's friend Sharath Marar is producing the film on his North Star Entertainments Banner. Bollywood Production and distribution giant, Eros International bought a stake in Pawan Kalyan's Gabbar Singh-2 and will be releasing the movie on their own in AP.
