The movie is based on the traditional 'Karagaatam' dance. But along with it, the movie had revenge, brutality and some melodrama. This is what 'Thaarai Thappatai' is all about. In short, Bala's trademark stamped all over the movie. Ilayaraja has composed music and songs were the backbone for such a brutal movie. Studio 9 company R.K.Suresh plays the role of antagonist. Technical team comprises of Chezhian for cinematography and T.Kishore for editing. Director Bala's B Studios produced the movie and Ayngaran International distributed it.  Sasikumar, Music

Sasikumar after the failure of 'Brahmman' is backa s an actor. He has shown the brutality to the core. Welcome back Sasi ! He has brought the soul to the movie with some of his mind-goggling performance. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar so far never had a good run in Kollywood. After tasting success in 'Poda Podi', the actress is back. She is an absolute treat as Karagam dancer. Amudhavanan who was seen in reality shows has given a brilliant performance. R.K.Suresh as ruthless villain scores well. The actor has a lot more to do as an antagonist. Bala has perfectly shaped a villain in Kollywood. Kaavya Sha, Satish Kaushik, Haricharan did their part well. There were no flaws in any one. All credits goes to Bala. Only he can make such a brilliant transformation on the actors.

After 'Paradesi' in 2013, Bala is back to Ilayaraja. He always makes it special for Bala. There were seven songs including a 'Hero Intro theme'. 'Aarambam Aavadhu' song was perfectly redone by Ilayaraja. The original was done by Viswanathan-Ramamoorthy. The album became popular on iTunes and on social media and was widely lauded by the media. Now with Visuals they are even more spectacular. All credits to Raja ! Chezhiyan's cinematography is another good thing happened to the movie. His frame and angles are so brilliant. Each frame speaks for itself. He has captured the nativity of Karagam through his lens. G.Sasikumar's editing is also flawless. But in such a movie, we can't expect more from an editor. But still credits as his part is more integral to the movie. As per reports, there was no Pragathi Guruprasad in the movie. Kaavya Sha has replaced her void.

Yet another brutal film from Bala. Bala's trademark is all over. You can't seek entertainment factor in this movie. It is not a movie to be watched with family. It is not a movie where you can step out of the movie hall happily. It is a trademark Bala movie where you need to come out of the theatre with a rigid and teary-eyed face. If you prefer those, you can step inside the theatre.
