Dabangg 2 Review : Star Performances

Dabangg 2 is Salman Khan show all the way and it's a treat to watch him in his own unique style, charm and acting. His action sequence, song-and-dance routine, romance with Rajjo and skits which he plays on his dad will stand as USP of this movie. Sonakshi Sinha as Mrs. Pandeyji looks good and carried her desi look avatar convincingly. Arbaaz is adorable as Makhi, as is Vinod Khanna, as the newly-minted doting father.  Prakash Raj as Bachaa Bhaiya is another treat to watch. His terrific performance and dialogue delivery is unmatchable. His brothers in film Nikitin Dheer as Chunni and Deepak Bobriyal as Gainda were also good and convincing in their roles.

Dabangg 2 Review : Direction, Music & Technical Aspects

Arbaaz Khan had made a traffic debut as a director with this movie. Well, a good replacement in place of Anuraj Kashyap ,who directed first part Dabangg. Music given by Sajid-Wajid is peppy and numbers like ‘Fevicol Se’ and ‘Pandeyji Seti’, definitely urges the audiences to leave their seats and shake their foot. Action sequences have been shot very well and Salman Khan is in his peaks while doing it. Screenplay and story are negative aspects of this movie. Editing was extraordinary and cinematography by Aseem Mishra is decent.

Dabangg 2 : Analysis

Dabangg 2 is sequel which carries forward the charm and chronicle of Chulbul Pandey in the second part, Arbaaz Khan employs exactly the same formula from its predecessor in designing the sequel. Every song from the original has an equivalent in the sequel in terms of its tune, theme, treatment and even the singers. The writing by Dilip Shukla is essentially old school for this movie, he did the same for Dabangg too. But the film hardly relies on its plot line and Salman Khan carry's the film with his appeal and aura.  You will enjoy Sallu in the same formal dressing, with glares tucked behind his shirt, mouthing dialogues in his trademark style, gyrating like a non-dancer, giggling like a clown and crying like a baby. The sloppiness in the story is covered up with the dynamism in dialogues. You will get what you expect, stylized, and digitalized action (Anal Arasu) with Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan) beating the baddies to pulp. There's a double dose of oomph factor as well, with both Munni (Malaika Arora Khan) and Kareena Kapoor dancing to the beat. The climax comprises of the mandatory shirtless Salman Khan combat but since Prakash Raj doesn’t have the physique for a bare-body fight, there’s a villain sidekick (Nikitin Dheer) to do the needful. However, one similarity which is the saving grace is a moustached Salman Khan, who exudes the same splendor, swagger and style that kind of smoke screens the scarcity of substance
