Jiiva’s romantic comedy movie Kavalai Vendam will give you a basic sketch of how the film is going to be. You may even predict how it is going to end. The film has a very used up story line but where it scores is through its dialogues and a largely interesting screenplay. The story revolves around Jiiva and Kaajal Aggarwal and the climax is rushed fastly for thirty minutes.
Kavalai Vendam has a bandwagon of star cast like Jiiva, Kajal Aggarwal, Bobby Simha, Sunainaa, RJ Balaji, Mayilsamy, Manthra, Balasaravanan and more. The casting looks perfect, but have all of them been put to use to the fullest. Jiiva and Kajal Aggarwal have romanced for the very first time through this movie.
The technical teammates have given an adequate backend support to the film with some great visuals from cinematographer Abinandhan Ramanujam and few soulful songs from Leon James. RJ Balaji scores big time in Kavalai Vendam. It is easily one of his best works. His biggest plus is to infuse dialogues from old films and perfectly blend them with a particular situation without becoming cloying. Balasaravanan uses the limited scope and he does make an impact too.
The first half is filled with more comedy scenes and the second half moves slowly and the last 30 minutes was rushed extremely faster. It loses shape mainly because it blends its fun elements with not so impact emotions. Jiiva carries the movie on his shoulders completely and he has best suited to the roles. RJ Balaji has scored big time in Kavali Vendam. Leon James had composed music and his work is appreciatable.
