What Is Good: Prakash Raj acting, Preetha's cinematography What Is Bad: Slow phased narration, Single point story, No commercial elements, Zero entertainment Boring Scenes: Other than few key scenes in second half, rest of the film is boring. Arjun [ Allu Sirish ] is son of big industrialist , who takes up his dad’s business in India. As a part of business work Arjun happens to visit a rural village named S M Palli. At first Arjun hesitate to go their but knowing his friend Shankar stays in same place, he agrees to visit that village. Arjun comes to know from Shankar dad L.B.Sriram that his son is missing past six month and his worried. Then Arjun takes up mission of finding missing Shankar teaming up with Yamini [ Yami Gautam ] and his engineering friends. Why Shankar went missing? Did Arjun found out missing Shankar? This missing mystery has to be seen on silver screen.
To be frank Allu Sirish did not fit in to character given to him. His dancing & acting skills are very poor and throughout the film you can see single expression on his face. If Sirish is serious about continuing his career as hero a lot of homework is needed to be done and even some plastic surgery is also needed. Yami Gautam acting talent was totally wasted in the movie. Other than standing beside Sirish and shaking her leg for couple of songs there was nothing left for her to do. Prakash Raj as usual did want he is good at, he portrayed a grey shade character, which is one positive thing in the movie. Brahmaji and L B Sriram have made their presences felt.
Director Radha Mohan has once again failed to present a message oriented film in a crispy appealing way to Telugu audiences. His slow narration, single point story and more of Tamil flavor has misfired miserably in Gouravm. One good element in technical front is cinematography by Preetha. He captured the native village locations naturally. Thaman music sounded not so bad and even his background score is lukewarm. Editing by Alen could be better and production values are decent.
