Uru is a psychological thriller movie, where actor Kalaiarasan, an aspiring and failing writer decides to write a thriller based on fear and moves to a secluded villa in some hill station where he is often visited by his girlfriend Dhanshika. The problem comes when they feel a presence of watching eyes, of that of a masked man and the same mystery man tries to kill them. How they are escaping from him and why he is trying to kill them is the rest of the story.
Kalaiyarasan and Dhanshika pair have acted excellently in this psychological thriller. Mime Gobi and Jaya Balan have acted decently and they have shown their characters excellently. Newcomer director Vicky Anand had previously directed director Kalyan during the making of Kaathadi. Dhanshika had acted amazingly and had proved her individuality.
John Shevanesh had scored the music which is lovely and melodious to hear. Prasanna S. Kumar had done the cinematography work which is made decently, but the editing part is the minus in the movie. The technical aspects are the minus for the psychological thriller.
Hero Kalaiyarasan portrays the role of a young out dated novel writer who pens about traditional family Novels. His character is pushed to a state where his style of writing and he seems outdated among the new generation writers. So he plans to start his new thriller novel which focuses to attract youngsters, and so he travels to Megamalai and unusual things happen around him. Whether he escapes or not from the dangerous guy is the climax.
