Exactly 2 years after his disastrous debut with VV Vinayak directorial Akhil, Akhil Akkineni has returned on screen with his second flick Hello, directed by the talented maker Vikram Kumar known for his interesting concepts and engaging screenplay laced with exciting elements. Avinash (Akhil) leads a happy life, but is in search of something.He misses his long lost childhood soulmate Junnu, whom he befriended as the young Seenu. After a call that connects to and the phone getting missed, Situations force them to meet as strangers Avinash and Priya (Kalyani Priyadarshan). Now comes an unexpected twist to the tale as Avinash has to face an opposition to his love and achieve his quest to reach his Junnu. How he does that defying all odds is what the romantic entertainer is all about.
Akhil gives an decent performance and a sea change from his debut act in Akhil and has improved his dialogue delivery and gives his fullest with stunning dances and stunts. Kalyani Priyadarshan Makes a neat debut and gets her emotions right. Ramya Krishnan and Jagapathi Babu are adequate and give important supporting acts, while Ajay is menacing as the antagonist.
Anup Rubens impresses with his pleasant background score and among his compositions, Merise, Hello title number and Yevevo are impressive. PS Vinod makes sure every frame of hello is colorfully shot and captures the impressive stunt and chase sequences perfectly. Prawin Pudi's editing could have been better as the second half drags big time. After the reincarnation saga Manam and time travel flick 24, Vikram Kumar is back to basics as he's here with a simple love story of a boy finding his long lost love and renewing his Love.
Vikram Kumar is literally back to his Ishq days with a simple tale and filling it with romance all over. However he fails in extracting full emotional performance from Akhil, as he looks a bit dull in emotional sequences though he excels in dances. Besides, the second half doesn't match the beautiful first half, as it gets tedious with unnecessary sequences and cliched Villainy by Ajay. However, hello is saved in the second half too, thanks to the rich technical values and some good Music and breathtaking visuals by Anup Rubens and PS Vinod, with some good supporting acts and the universal theme of love, making it a worth watching light hearted romantic entertainer.
