English Vinglish Review: Story
Film starts with showcasing Sridevi doing her routine work as normal housewife taking care of her family. She is an expert in making Ladoo’s but due to her poor linguistic skills in English and becomes a big joke in front her loved ones. She will get a chance to stay for one month away from her family in a foreign country. What are the reasons which made her go out of India leaving her family? What does she do there? Will she get respect from her family by learning English? And what does happens in that process? Has to be seen on silver screen.
English Vinglish Review : Star Performances
Sridevi as Shashi is treat to watch on screen with glamour’s cotton saress throughout the film. Her performances as a housewife taking care of her kids, managing everything at home and ease to learn English is kudos. Definitely it’s a dream comeback film for her into film industry.
Mehdi Nebbou a French actor as Laurent, who gets attracted to Sridevi & falls in love with her, has done an excellent work. Priya Anand has left her mark in the audiences with her acting skills, surely B-Town offers will rain for her.
Ajith’s cameo role was short & neat but his few lines which boot ups the confidence level of Shashi was good. Adil Hussain as Satish has done a decent job as Shashi’s husband in this flick.
English Vinglish Review : Direction, Music & Technical Aspects
Debutant director Gauri Shinde work needs very special appreciations, even her command in the screenplay, story and narration style is par excellences.
Amit Tridevi music is very lovable and every song, including background score sinks perfectly with the movie. Laxman Utekar camera work is very beautiful and editing by Hemanti Sarkar is impressive.
