Gabbar (Akshay Kumar) is a one-man army, who is determined to remove corruption from the society. However, he has a different approach towards the corrupt and believes in punishing them with death. Whenever a person is caught bribing, Gabbar comes out to teach him a lesson. But a wicked local builder (Suman Talwar) won't let that 'Swacch Abhiyan' of Gabbar be a success. What will Gabbar do now and what is the reason behind Gabbar selflessly fighting against the evil of the society? Forms the rest of the story…

Akshay Kumar is one actor who sure possesses a capability of taking his act as well as every movie of his to another level altogether every time. And this time too, without Akshay, the movie wouldn’t have quite been a watchable affair. Apart from him, there is Sunil Grover, popularly known Gutthi on Kapil Sharma's show, who plays a low-rank police constable with elegance. Jaideep Ahlawat doesn’t quite justify his role of a CBI officer and looks uncomfortable in his skin. Shruti Haasan does not have much scope in the film to showcase her prowess, but she is good in bits. Chitrangada Singh and Kareena Kapoor Khan are seen in some unwanted cameos and item numbers, which have been very poorly edited.

Its clichéd to the core here. Akshay Kumar starrer Gabbar is Back brings back the iconic Gabbar in an all new avatar and this time, he is handsome too. South filmmaker Krish makes sure to make use of all the Gabbar dialogues to fight the evil of the society. Also this is the first time that a movie in bollywood has actually gone into dealing with the issue of Swacch Bharat with a rather different approach. The one good thing about the film is that it keeps you engaged and enthralled with its ideology and concept in the first half, but soon losses its grip in the second with all the over-the-top dramatic sequences. Also the dialogues are too clichéd to handle and you may find yourself forcing to laugh at some. However, we just can’t blame Krish for all the drama he has inserted, keeping in mind the industry hails from. The twists of the film scream for attention, but are not worth even a mention. The film is extremely loud and noisy.

The screenplay of the film is extremely disappointing and same is the case with the editing. The story lacks connect that is usually needed in movies that deal with social issues. However, Krish’s attempt to remake Tamil film Ramanamay be liked by the masala loving audience. Also the concept of a hero cleaning corruption from the society has been tried and tested in the industry like n number of times before, but the approach sure is different this time around. Coming to the music of the film, none of the songs are worth a mention and one might forget each one of these while getting out of the theatres.

On a while, Gabbar Is Bach is a massy affair that deals with an issue, quite relevant in today’s corrupt scenario. Akshay being a part of the film, action in the film is worth all the money and the actor does it with utmost dedication. From the intense to the romantic sequences, Gabbar is Back is all about Akshay. Coming to the climax of the movie, it is a disappointment in every aspect and could have been a lot better. Even though the movie succeeds a bit in spreading a social message, the climax of the movie fails to move the audience in any sense. Rest of the technical aspects including the screenplay, the fast paced plot and the tedious climax are a strict no no for the film.

Akshay Kumar,Shruti Haasan,Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi,Sanjay Leela Bhansali,Sajid Ali,Wajid Ali.Gabbar Is Back is a loud and failed attempt to fight corruption and is only a pure Akshay show.
