The movie is just a remake of 1983 movie Hero which featured Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Seshadri in lead roles. The plot goes like this. A cop's daughter Radha (Athiya Shetty) is kidnapped by Sooraj (Sooraj Pancholi). And as always, the duo falls in love with each other. But in a series of unfortunate events, there are lots of barricades for their love. How they manage to join forms the rest of the story.

Sooraj Pancholi gets the perfect entry as lead actor and he has performed with all his expertise training. Athiya Shetty is gorgeous and she emotes well. Both the lead actors have done good performances. Sooraj has given his best in romance and action scenes. The debut actors chemistry is just sparkling. Tigmanshu Dhulia, Kader Khan, Aditya Pancholi, Imran Hasnee, Sharad Kelkar have done what they have assigned to do. Nothing note worthy or special from those supporting actors.

On such a masala genre movie, one doesn't mind much on the technical department. But you just can't go without complimenting the cinematography. The camera angles and lighting's are perfect and they set the mode for the romance. Amaal Malik's music is not soul-stirring. When you compare the 1983 movie, the theme music is still melody to the ears. The same magic is failed to be repeated here. Editing could have been crisper. Some random cuts have also played the spoilsport. Director Nikhil Advani is the real villain of the movie. The director failed to notice lots of glitches in the screenplay.

The debut actors have given their best performances. But everything fails with a loose screenplay and worst directing skills. Nikhil Advani has completely turned around Ghai's old story and failed to rectify it. In the original movie, when she finds the betrayal, the lead actress will emote and forgive the hero with her tears. Athiya Shetty is just a debut actress and she couldn't emulate the same. The slow-motion fights are also annoying. In fact, Bollywood still thinks people do love that kinda stuff ? However Salman Khan who will be seen in the end credits is a big relief.
