Sonam Kapoor is busy with promotions of her new movie 'Neerja'. The movie is a biopic of flight attendant Neerja Bhanot. Sonam Kapoor essays role of Pan America flight attendant who lost her life trying to save the life of passengers from on board terrorists.
The incident was a real one which took place on 5th September 1986. Prashant Gupta does the male lead role along with Sonam Kapoor in this movie. Ram Madhvani shaped the project and Atul Kasbekar produces it under Fox Star Studios banner.
Now this movie is banned in Pakistan. An Official with IMGC Entertainment said, "The ministry issued us a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to import the film and bring it to Pakistani territory, but later on revoked the NOC."
Pakistan Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC) leader Mobasher Haasan said, "The movie never came to us for censors. Even commerce and information ministry also asked Pakistan Electronic Media Regulation Authority (PEMRA) doesn't reach Pakistan through cable channels.
