Nayak Review : Story

On job trails, Siddu [Charan] comes to his sisters place at culcutta and fall in love with his sister-in-law [Amala Paul]. Other side of coin - Cherry [Ram Charan] is a software engineer in hyderabad and known for his street smartness, He even manages to make local don [Rahul dev] sister [Kajal] fall for him. Who is Nayak among these two ? What are the circumstances turned an ordinary young chap to an extraordinary leader (Nayak) worshiped by lakhs of people? How these two people cross their paths? are to be seen on silver screen.

Nayak Review : Star Performances

Ram charan was presented with the huge opportunity to showcase his performance through dual roles. He was good in Cherry character - 'cool going smart guy...', Okay as Siddu by his serious looks and subtle expressions. Charan had difficulty in bringing expression on his face which makes one feel no variation in two characters. His dance skills made fans go gaga throughout the songs, There will be more than half dozen virgin dance moves to remember. Kajal, Amala paul are let downs for this movie. "Mitravinda" lost her Magadheera charm and Amala Paul never lived upto Cherry stature. More over there is not much for heroines in this story. Bramhi as "Zilebi", Jaya Prakash Reddy, Posani, MS Narayana together handled entertainment department beyond your expectations and made the movie to be an entertainer. While there are many villains in this movie, nothing much to talk about them.

Nayak Review : Direction, Music & Technical Aspects

VV Vinayak has bounced back with his grandeur direction skills. Portraying a star hero with all the commercial elements, yet entertain the masses. Using logic and creative thinking combined with entertainement will remind you 'DIL' Vinayak. He was successful in utilizing technical department. However he seem to have lost control at critical parts of movie, failed to bring novelty in climax. Thaman's background score was nice. Cherry magical dance moments, Candid visualization made songs heardable. Chota.K.Naidu's Cinematography is highlight of this movie. With dark themed lighting and more than 40% close-up shots... the way he elevated scenes without missing grandierness was worth appreciable. Dialogues, Screenplay had extended required support. Dialogues entertain you thouroughly... Screenplay elevates each character without leaking the story upfront. Editing by Gautham Raju was neat, far better than his recent films.

Nayak Review : Analysis

From the days of 'YOGI'... VV Vinayak was going through a rough ride and trying hard to make MASS entertainer. Finally 'Nayak' marks his comeback by being full length MASS commercial entertainer. Nothing new about the story, but the way team pulled burning social problems, such as Corruption, Children hacking , Prostitution and Human trafficking into main stream of the story was appreciable. Producers never mind in spending money, and the best part is... value of that money can be seen on screen. When you give unlimited budget, and Mega Family Hero 'Ram Charan' to a MASS director what you expect in the film is what you would witness on screen in major portion of Naayak. Screen opens-up in serious mode... with grandier fight shot in Kolkata. Immediately flew to entertainment plot in Hyderabad. This discuss-throw game between serious plot and entertainment plot continues whole first half, without revealing any story but just entertainment. While all major villains try to bring seriousness, all major comedians tried to add required entertainment, and they were successful. Cherry took care of dancing. The way these serious and entertainer plots merged was interesting and explained how crispy screenplay followed by neat editing can help presenting a routine story in entertain way. In the game of entertainment, Team dropped the ball of elevating much hyped leader[Nayyak] character. Neither Vinayak direction, nor 'attire less'[Gambheeryam] Ram charan performance is of any rescue to convince audience as he is Naayak. Added to this... immature handling of court scene, Massive followers base without justifying reasons behind following, Nayak dancing for an item number... which took away much expected seriousness, Dragging climax with unrequired comedy track towards the end, Very routine, unimpressive, predictable... climax, all put together drag 'Naayak' from super hit to Vinayak show + Ram charan dance.
