The famous music director A R Rahman comes across as a man with a cool head and very shy smiles but beneath that lies a personality who is intense, sensitive and someone who has seen a lot of hardships in life. This was something revealed by Rahman’s sister Reihana in a recent interview.
Sharing her thoughts, Reihana reportedly mentioned that when Rahman was just nine years old his father the music composer R K Shekhar fell sick and though one ‘Peer Baba’ had advised against it, Shekhar went for a surgery and passed away. It is heard that this incident had a profound effect on Rahman.
Reihana reportedly revealed that it was this incident which pushed Rahman to start an early career and he became a keyboard player as he had to take care of the family. Today, Rahman is an international icon but just like any other middle class person he has seen it all. This is truly an inspiring tale about him.
