Last Diwali, Ajith's 'Vedalam' got released and it stressed on Women safety and empowerment. The movie deals with crimes against women. Now following 'Vedalam', Vijay's 'Theri' will also deal with Crimes against women. The movie has a rape scene based on 2012 Delhi rape incident.
During 2012 that incident created a nation wide uproar. Director Atlee himself revealed this during his recent interview. He also said that crimes could be reduced only by good parenting. The movie is ready to hit screens in less than five hours and we will get confirmation soon.
The promotions are done extensively for the movie. It would be interesting to see a lead actor Vijay speaking on such sensitive issues. The movie is expected to take an earth shattering opening in Chennai and Kerala. 'Theri' also gets the benefit of solo release in neighbouring state.
