Akhil Akkineni made his debut last year with a disastrous first film, Akhil — The Power of Jua. The movie which released amid lot of hype, had a pre-release business of 47 Crore but could not even collect 20 Crore Share at the box office. There were rumours back then that Akhil was over enthusiastic and involved too much in Vinayak's work.
However even that failure did not change Akhil. He is reportedly involving in the work of his second director, Vamshi Paidipalli as well. Akhil is keen on having the remake of Ye Jawani Hain Deewani and is pressurizing Vamshi for that. But the director is not at all interested and is working on a new script for the film.
Even though, Vamshi is working on the new script, Akhil is repeatedly urging him to work on the remake project. But Vamshi has the support of Nagarjuna who is confident of Vamshi's instincts. We are said that it is going to be a love story and they are considering 'Laila O Laila' as the title. Annapurna Studios recently registered the title with Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce.
