It is said that Kalaipuli Thanu is quoting high price for rights and the telugu rights are quoted around Rs.32 crore but although Telugu distributors are keen in buying the rights for the mentioned price!
Inspite of the fact that Rajnikanth’s previous films 'Kochadaiyyaan’ and 'Lingaa' faced some financial issues and Kochadaiyyaan’s issues haven’t been sorted out yet and the complaint by the distributors in the Telugu Producers Council is still pending. So, who ever acquires the rights of ‘Kabali’ may have to pay compensation to ‘Kochadaiyyaan’s distributors.
Irrespective of previous downs the distributors are still interested and several big names have popped who are said to be in talks with the makers of the film for Telugu version’s distribution rights. The positive buzz on the film and the trailer record might be the reason for this craze on superstar’s film.
