Krishnam Raju born at Mogaltur village in West Godavari district on 20th of January 1940. He entered the film industry as a hero through the film 'Chilaka Gorinka' with Krishna Kumari was heroine in 1996. Then he played anti-hero role in the film ‘Nenante Nene’ in which Krishna was hero. He acted in 190 films till date and he had a golden period ruling Telugu cinema in 1970s & 1980’s. After late 1990′s he became active in politics. He joined Bharatiya Janata Party and was elected to Lok Sabha from Narasapur. He served as a minister of state for external affairs from 1999 to 2004. Not many people may know that he was once a journalist, he worked as a reporter for the Andhra Patrika. He won five filmfare awards including filmfare lifetime achievement award and two Nandi Awards for his contribution to cinema and his performance on silver screen.  His master performance in films Amaradeepam, Bhakta Kannappa, Bobbili Brahmanna, Thandra Paparayudu are used as references in many film institutes as case references to their students.
