People cannot forget the shocking incident of poaching by Bollywood film unit Hum Sath Sath Hain in Rajasthan in 1998. It caught the attention of national media and with Salman in the middle of the controversy, it generated tremendous interest. Lower court after hearing the case for many decades found Salman guilty along with seven others for killing a blackbuck and chinkara in two separate incidents on 26th at Bhawad on the outskirts of Jodhpur  and on 28th September 1998 at Ghoda Farms and sentenced him for one and five years jail term.

Salman Khan appealed to High Court against the order of the lower court. High Court completed the hearing in the month of May and today it delivered the final judgement. In a relief to Salman Khan, High Court acquitted him off all poaching charges. Salman Khan can now breath easy as media trial of him will surely end.

However he is still not out completely as Maharashtra government earlier approached Supreme Court against Mumbai High court striking down all charges against him in the drunk and drive case. It is known that Salman was charged of killing one and injuring four in hit and run case in Mumbai 13 years back.Though the lower court found him guilty, High Court quashed all charges against him.

Maharashtra Government approached Supreme Court against the verdict after huge uproar. Salman Khan made controversial statements on rape during the promotions of his recently released Sultan drawing anger of all people.
