Every director has got his own specialty and that applies to the genre he is working on. For example, Boyapati Srinu is an expert at commercial mass entertainers and Sekhar Kammula is an expert at class family entertainers. Both cannot take each other’s places. This is something Bommarillu Bhaskar didn’t realize.
Having his strength in drama family entertainers, Bhaskar dreamt of becoming a mass director and came up with ‘Ongole Githa’. The result at the box office has proved that Bhaskar needs to work not just on the genre but also on his skills to make a film entertaining for the audience.
The disaster of ‘Orange’ has created a very negative impression on Bhaskar so it was important that he didn’t take a risk by doing something like ‘Ongole Gittha’. Actors if they score flops can stand for another chance but directors it is not the case. It will be very difficult for Bhaskar to get another film very soon.
