Mr. Pellikoduku Review : Star Performances

As far as Sunil acting skills are concerned, he can perform comedy and in this flick he did comedy but lacks soul in it. He has shown few floor dance movements which are kewl but his expressions at sad & emotional scenes looks unbearable on 70 mm screen. Isha Chawla in Anjali character looks OK Ok, and even she managed doing couple of dance moves. She has charm to attract everyone but bubblyness needed in her character was missing. Ali as Bachi managed to bring few laughs. Dharmavarapu, Ahuthi prasad, Ravi Babu roles are short yet they performance were neat.

Mr. Pellikoduku Review : Direction, Music & Technical Aspects

Director Devi Prasad made his mark as comedy specialist with his films 'Aduthu Paduthu', 'Blade Babji' but here he falls short to repeat his image. He tried to evaluate little comedy scenes but fails completely in executing them to turn funny. SA Raj kumars songs and backgrounds score stands as big minus to the movie. Cinematography by Sammer Reddy is just average. Editing by Nandamuri Hari is too weak.

Mr. Pellikoduku Review : Analysis

After winning hearts of both critics & audiences with 'Poola Rangadu' Sunil is coming with the same heroine, Isha Chawla before audience with romantic comedy film Mr. Pellikoduku. Adding more weight to it successful comedy director Devi Prasad heading megaphones and it's original 'Tanu Weds Manu' becoming huge hit at box office, expectations were high on this films, let see what it has got in store. To start with Sunil flatter with six pack and it continues with first song, in which major places of Malaysia can be seen & his floor movements looks good. Sunil's pelli choopulu scenes are canned funny, especially satire on TV Serials and Ravi Babu scenes with Sunil are only comedy elements in first half. Rest of the movie goes in a slow phase with nothing happening interesting and even track between lead pairs looks artificial & boring.   Second half falls flat with songs popping up unnecessarily and unimpressive comedy scenes. Director tried to evaluate hero character which killed the feel of the film and even climax fight looks unnatural. Ali & MS Narayan tried bringing few laughs and forcibly just to show Sunil's six pack climax fight scene has been placed.   Sunil has made a big mistake in his film career by doing this flick. His strength is comedy but he put that at back seat in the movie and his efforts looks unimpressive in sad and sentimental scenes. If you have seen Tanu Weds Manu you will feel every scene including many dialogues were drop exactly without a minor change.

Mr. Pellikoduku Review : Conclusion

Pros :
  • Sunil [BUT IN PARTS]

  • Some comedy scenes
Cons :
  • Direction

  • Music

  • Editing

  • Simple Story
Bottom - Line : With unimpressive technical team, poor efforts by lead pair Mr. Pellikoduku killed the natural & fresh feel which 'Tanu Weds Manu' had in it.
