Superstar Rajinikanth's last film, Kabali did not work well at the box office. The movie which created a huge hype with that 'Kabali Da' teaser failed to create the magic at the box office after its release and ended up as a huge disaster. Except for Overseas, the movie resulted in huge losses everywhere.
However, the Superstar surprised everyone by giving Kabali director, PA Ranjith a second chance. Dhanush made the announcement of this project a few months back. The film will go on floors after 2.0 is complete, sources say. On the other side, it is emerging that the makers are considering Bollywood Diva Vidya Balan as the female lead for this film.
If it happens, this will be the first combination film of Rajinikanth and Vidya Balan. We are told that the talks are underway and she is yet to sign the dotted line. There are rumours in Kollywood that it may be the sequel to Kabali but we are told that it is not true and they are going to try an entirely new script. The Superstar's son-in-law, Dhanush, known for producing films such as Kaaka Muttai and Visaaranai, will bankroll the project under his Wunderbar Films.
