Victory Venkatesh's Guru has completed its shooting a long ago and will release for Summer 2016. Even though, the movie is complete a long ago, it was delayed for various reasons. The movie is likely to release on March 31st we are told and the official confirmation is awaited. On the other side, the movie will undergo the Censor formalities on 25th of this month.
Venkatesh looks raw and gritty in the posters, indicating that he is an apt fit for the role of rugged and Temperamental Boxing Coach. The actor had put in a lot of hard work to fit in this role and even took special classes of boxing. He worked out hard in the gym to get bulkier for the role. Guru is the official remake of Saala Khadoos, a Sports drama.
We are told that Venkatesh will be taking the satellite rights of the film as his remuneration. The Telugu version will be directed by Sudha Kongara who directed the original version. Saala Khadoos deals with the relationship between a boxing coach (R. Madhavan) and his student, played by debutante Ritika Singh. She will reprise the same role in the remake project as well. Guru is set in Vishakapatnam backdrop. Kabali fame Santosh Narayanan will be scoring music for the film.
