Whenever a movie is being remade from the Original, the main thing which should be considered is the core value has to be retained and the essence should not chance. That is the biggest secret for tasting success. And 'Katamarayudu' failed miserably in that.
The main reason for the failure of 'Katamarayudu' is the flavour which was retained in the Tamil version is totally missing. Also, some mass scenes which came in Tamil version was ignored. The emotional bonding is totally Nil in the Telugu version.
Director Siva would have conveyed the characterization of Vinayagam as a ruthless leader who also has emotions and a soft side with little incidents. 'Thambi Mayilvaganam' character would be so emotional and it shows the other side.
Director Dolly has completely changed the script to suit the Telugu audience and in the end, the essence of the movie went missing and the whole second half ended as haywire. Hope, Pawan learns his lesson with 'Katamarayudu' and he doesn't make more changes to 'Vedalam' remake.
