Sandalwood industry sources have stated that the multi-starrer Happy New Year has been censored with U Certificate and team has announced that film will be releasing on May 5, in over 100 theaters throughout the state. Jayanna Films is distributing the film.
It was stated that the film marks comeback of veteran actor BC Patil as both actor and producer after a brief hiatus. Also, he is introducing his younger daughter Srushti Patil as heroine through the film. Srushti also supervised the production activities being on the sets as an actress.
Further it was stated that the film boasts of an ensemble star cast
including Sai Kumar, Vijay Raghavendra, Diganth, Dhananjaya, Sudharani, Sonu
Gowda, Sruthi Hariharan, Rajashri Ponnappa and others. Also, a couple of stars like
Prajwal, Pranam Devaraj, Manvitha Harish, have played cameos in the title
track. As the star cast suggests, there are five lead pairs and separate story
for each of them.
Debutant director Pannaga Bharana has written this challenging script and has taken assistance of five different writers in drafting the screenplay and dialogues for the five tracks. Apart from BC Patil's comeback, the film has yet another big name Raghu Dixit.
