Sources from Bollywood have reported that since 'Tubelight' is the next biggie of Indian cinema to hit screens in the post-Baahubali 2, there have been discussions among fans and trade people over whether the Box office king can break the records created by the Mahishmati King.

Meanwhile when asked if ‘Tubelight’ can break Baahubali 2's phenomenal records, Salman said with a straight face that he doesn't think so. Dubbing Baahubali 2 as the most freakish films that has ever been made, the 'Sultan' star credited Hindi audiences for making the Telugu film a global blockbuster.

Meanwhile Salman added that he was not aiming to break Baahubali 2 records with ‘Tubelight’ and that his sole concern is no one involved in his film's business loses money.

The actor has cleverly tried to avert the inevitable comparison of his film with Baahubali 2 as he knew very well that overpowering the Telugu juggernaut wouldn't be possible unless he also comes up with a never before seen kind of film and of course Dangal beat Baahubali 2 but it is largely because of the unprecedented reception for the wrestling drama in China.
