Okay, this post is not to degrade or backbite anyone. But the point is to notify that why too much of shallowness in choosing an actor and honoring him/her with a 'Doctorate' degree when they are not even qualified 0.001% for it. They earn in Crores, They spend lavish, They have a blind fan following too and still, they need a namesake degree!
So, why should an honorary degree be given to any person? They should be given for their outstanding services in their field of interest. Earlier, MGR University conferred Director Shankar and Actor Vijay with the degree. Director Shankar has elevated Tamil Cinema to a whole new level and that's fine! But what did Vijay did as an actor to Tamil cinema? He never expanded the boundaries nor he conveyed any social oriented movies. He never even won a Filmfare award so far! And we know his movies are nothing but masala entertainers!
Now, in a similar way, Tamannaah has been conferred with 'Doctor' degree for her Services(!!!) to the film industry. Well, we ain't kidding. A leading Tamil web portal has already made a mocking statement about it. And this time, it is Hyderabad University which has done this privilege to Tamannaah...
