Superstar Mahesh Babu's Spyder was supposed to be the South debut of Bollywood Beauty Parineeti Chopra. But she was replaced by Rakul Preet Singh in the last minute. Back then, there are rumours that she quoted a hefty price to act in the film which prompted the makers to backtrack.
But Murugadoss revealed the actual reason in an interview. We have made a true bilingual. Each and every scene was shot two times in Telugu and Tamil. We need a heroine who can dedicate such long time. Parineeti could not afford that. Also, Rakul can easily deliver Telugu and Tamil dialogues. So she was brought in," Murugadoss said.
The movie directed by AR Murugadoss will have a simultaneous release in Telugu and Tamil on 27th September as Dussehra Special. Rakul Preet Singh is the female lead opposite Mahesh Babu and Harris Jairaj is the music composer. NV Prasad is producing the film on his NVP Cinemas Banner.
