Tall, dark and handsome hero Vishal has a good following, not just in Tamilnadu but also in AP/TG, thanks to his Telugu roots. He had struck gold at the Tollywood box office with the dubbed versions of his earlier Tamil flicks like Sandakozhi, Thimiru, and Thamirabharani which were released as Pandem Kodi, Pogaru, and Bharani respectively.
However after gaining a name with his dubbed Releases, when Vishal tried to cement his place in Tollywood with a direct Telugu release, he failed big time with Salute, which was the Telugu version of Sathyam, a proper Bilingual. The film became a colossal disaster both in Telugu and Tamil, and thereafter, all his dubbed releases failed to click at the box office.
Now, the actor is hoping to strike big at the box office with his upcoming flick, which will be the dubbed version of his Tamil action entertainer Thupparivalan. Directed by Mysskin, the film has Vishal playing a Sherlock Holmes kinda detective, and co-stars Prasanna, Anu Emmanuel, Andrea Jeremiah, Simran and Vinay. Titled Detective in Telugu, this Vishal home production will be releasing soon. The makers have decided to promote the Telugu version with Anu Emmanuel as she is a notable face for the Tollywood audience.
