Director Sasi, who made his debut with sollamale, went on to deliver hits like Roja Koottam and Dishyum, with different plots appealing to the youth. However, when he tried to make a content-oriented flick with Poo, it failed big time, and his next release 555 with Bharath too met with lukewarm response.
However, he struck big with his comeback flick Pichaikaran, that had music director turned actor Vijay Antony playing the lead, besides producing it. The film turned out to be the biggest hit of both Sasi and Vijay Antony and did a phenomenal business with its Telugu dubbed version Bichagadu as well which overpowered even the Mahesh Babu starrer biggie Brahmotsavam.
Now the director is ready with his next flick, and this flick will star not one, but two heroes. Titled Rettai Kombu, the emotional entertainer will have Siddharth and music director turned actor G.V.Prakash playing lead roles. Siddharth who broke up with Samantha never gave any notable movies in recent times. This film is bankrolled by Sri Thenandal studios. It must be noted that G.V.Prakash had once been the music director of Siddharth's Udhayam NH4.
