Dhanush joined hands with Director Balaji Mohan (Kadhalil Sothappuvathu Yeppadi/ Love failure starring Siddharth, Amala Paul) in 2015 and delivered a decent commercial success with the hilarious, action-packed mass entertainer Maari that co-starred Kajal Aggarwal, Robot Shankar, Mime Gopi.
While the first part had the protagonist Maari locking horns with a corrupt cop played by singer turned Actor Vijay Yesudas, son of legendary singer Yesudas, the team has announced that they've cast promising young Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas as a villain against the local don Maari in the sequel tentatively titled Maari 2. Now, all eyes are on Kajal Aggarwal to accept the offer as her presence would lift the movie to new heights.
Tovino Thomas is a popular and upcoming Actor in Malayalam industry with back to back hits like Guppy, Oru Mexican Aparatha and Godha, besides Making his Tamil debut soon with Abhiyum Anuvum opposite Pia Bajpai. Meanwhile, it is expected that the team of Maari 2 will announce the rest of the cast and crew in the coming days.
