Spyder begins on an interesting note as a promising entertainer, introducing Mahesh Babu in a stylish avatar as an intelligence agent Shiva, and introducing his nemesis who happens to be a psychopath, who kills people and aims to destroy mankind, with his brother for support.

Though the first half moves at a leisurely pace with songs in regular intervals, and lack of interesting moments, the pre-interval sequences leading to the interval block, announcing the arrival of the deadly Bhairavudu makes us hooked to the screens expecting a thrill ride.

However, despite some interesting counteracts by both the hero and the villain to foil the plans of each other, and engaging in a cat and mouse game, the second half moves on a dull tone rather than focusing on pace and thrills. And the usage of humor in places where fans expected action, is sure to impact the response of the Audience.

SPYder is a pretty decent outing for Mahesh Babu after his disastrous previous venture Brahmotsavam, but the same cannot be said of A.R.Murugadoss who seems to have lost his Midas touch and has failed to weave an interesting, engaging screenplay with massy, goosebumps moments, despite having a Superstar leading the proceedings.

Music by Harris Jayaraj and the stellar Cinematography by Santhosh Sivan are assets to SPYder, while SJ Surya is mighty impressive with his Villainy, and these are the only high points of the movie that falls somewhere between a commercial vehicle and a message-oriented flick.

It's high time Murugadoss comes out of his forced preachy mode and plans more on exploiting the star power to the fullest, with a massy, gripping screenplay. All said Spyder is worth an ONE TIME WATCH only for Mahesh and the technical finesse. And for those who waited with huge expectations, YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!
