Veteran actor Karthik's son Gautham Karthik's career had been in troubled waters, with one failure after the other, despite beginning his career with the Maniratnam directorial Kadal, that had music by A.R.Rahman.
However, his career took a memorable U-Turn this year, with the actor scoring the first hit of his career with Rangoon, and later followed it up with the fairly successful Ivan Thanthiran costarring Shraddha Srinath, and directed by experienced maker Kannan. Recently he achieved a hat-trick of sorts with his festive Release, the adult comedy flick Hara Hara Mahadevaki costarring Nikki Galrani.
While it was announced last week that the youngster will next be seen in a flick costarring his dad Karthik himself, it has been revealed that the title of this new venture is "Mr.Chandramouli", the popular dialogue uttered by Karthik in the Maniratnam classic Mouna Ragam. This film directed by Thiru of Theeradha vilayatu Pillai, Samar and Naan Sigapu Manithan fame (all 3 are Vishal starters), this film also starring Regina Cassandra and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar is bankrolled by G.Dhananjayan.
