Diwali is lhere and the buzz around the festival is laying too low. Already, the ban on sales of crackers has dampened the festive mood. Now, the film industry is also dull and boring without much releases for the fans.

Yes, every year, during the festival of lights, we can see at least 3 to 5 movies releasing and fans of all the actors enjoy the real festival mood. But, as time passes by, the festive mood clearly fades away. This year, we just have one release in Tamil and one release in Telugu.

Mersal:

After facing a failure earlier this year with 'Bairavaa', Actor Vijay is keen to bounce back with 'Mersal'. The movie is also releasing in Telugu on a parallel note. The production house TSL Studios have marketed the movie big time and it has raised the expectations bar. With no competition around, even an average response could easily lift the movie. The movie is said to have a running time of 167 minutes.

Raja The Great

Mass Maharaja definitely needs a big break and he hopes to get it with 'Raja The Great'. The movie is directed by Anil Ravipudi and it shows Ravi Teja as a blind man. Producer Dil Raju is banking heavily on this movie after he faced some huge losses with 'SPYder' in Nizam area.

These are the only two movies releasing this Diwali and both the movies don't have any competition too. Tamil Film Industry is already sinking with GST and an addition 10% local tax. TFPC President Vishal has confirmed that no movies will hit the screens until the Government provides tax exemption. But, so far the signs are bleak. However, 'Mersal' team has confirmed the release irrespective of the 'Double Taxation'!
