While it's a shocking truth that the recent offering from Superstar Mahesh Babu, the Spy action thriller SPYder directed by Maverick maker AR Murugadoss turned out to be a disaster, incurring losses to the tune of more than 70 crores, and the only highlight being SJ Surya winning Laurels as the evil antagonist Bhairavudu.
However, yesterday a funny yet surprising update came from the makers of SPYder, and that happened to be the 50 days poster of SPYder. It's surprising indeed for the makers themselves to release such a poster that instantly becomes a joke, as the whole industry knows the fate of SPYder.
Reportedly, the film will be playing for not just 50, but 100 days in Nellore district, Kota's Rajarajeshwari theatre, and that fans have spent more than 25 lakhs to achieve this feat, Surpassing their own record of spending 20 lakhs to have Brahmotsavam achieve 100 days run.
This Spyder 100 will make it Mahesh's 14th consecutive 100 days movie. While the whole industry is moving towards 50 and 100 crores collections rather than 50 days and 100 days theatrical run, it's a pity that fans of Superstar Mahesh Babu have become more regressive. Meanwhile, the actor will be shooting for his Koratala Siva Directorial Bharat Ane Nenu's mass Holi backdrop fight sequence in Pollachi soon.
