Post her daring and dashing Devasena act in SS Rajamouli's Magnum Opus Baahubali series, the bubbly Babe Anushka Shetty has been concentrating on her long-delayed project Bhaagamathie, which is reportedly having the actress play the role of an IAS officer, who fights for the justice.

The film, directed by G.Ashok of Pilla Zamindar fame, underwent numerous delays and postponements, besides umpteen number of reshoots owing to lack of satisfaction in the end product. While the first look of the movie featuring Anushka with a blood-soaked hammer, and an image of a girl hanged, it indicated Bhaagamathie fighting for an abused girl, from the spooky first look.

While it was expected that Bhaagamathie will be releasing on Sankranthi 2018, the makers have made an official announcement that Bhaagamathie will be releasing on January 26, coinciding with the extended republic day weekend. The film bankrolled by UV creations also stars Malayalam stars Unni Mukundan and Jayaram in important roles. The delay is not going to affect them as per trade sources.
