But the team kept a muted response and never responded to any of the allegations. So, for those who don't know about 'Special 26'. The movie is based on a real-life incident. In 1987, a crew of 26 people acted as CBI officers and raided several places.
The incident shocked the entire Nation. Based on that facts, 'Special 26' was crafted by Neeraj Pandey. Akshay Kumar who fails in CBI interview will conduct interviews in a fake manner and raid many places. Anupam Kher would have done a solid supporting role in this project.
Manoj Bajpai acted as the real police who was assigned to catch them. Also, in a particular shot, we see Suriya, Ramya Krishnan, and Sathyan and in the backdrop, we see a blackboard with CBI chart. The same happens in 'Special 26' too. Veteran actor Karthik has done the role of Manoj Bajpai.
Now, the problem is not about remaking. The official remake rights are with actor Prashanth's father Thiyagarajan and he wanted to do the remake with his son. So, Vignesh Shivn has copied without his knowledge? Earlier, comedy actor Santhanam faced similar trouble for remaking Bhagyaraj's 'Indru Poi Naalai Vaa' as 'Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasayaa'. Also, it's better to leave the originals untouched. Earlier Aamir Khan's '3 Idiots' was ruined and now Akshay's 'Special 26'.
