In a sensational move, it has been made official by the Telugu film producers council that, there will be no Telugu movie release from March 1, 2018. This move has been seen as a counterattack by TFPC against the monopoly of digital service providers which creates huge troubles for all films during releases.

After an emergency meeting held by the council, a notice letter had been sent to digital service providers like QUBE, UFO, Scrabble and PXD that the decision had been taken not to release movies from March and that theatres will be closed indefinitely until a solution arrives.  It has been revealed that the council was forced to take the decision as none of the digital service providers came for discussions or meetings to resolve issues.

However, this decision is not seen as a healthy one by producers and the film fraternity biggies, as many movies have planned their releases and scheduled  dates, blocked theatres as well, and this includes huge movies like Mahesh Babu starrer Bharat Ane Nenu, Allu Arjun starrer Naa Peru Surya, Ramcharan starrer Rangasthalam and Superstar Rajinikanth starrer 2.0, and with more than 400 crores riding on these projects, everyone is expecting a resolution soon.
