Kongara Jaggayya screen named Jaggayya , was born on December 31, 1928 in Tenali. He was given the title ‘Kanchu Kantam’ by the Telugu audiences for his booming voice and ‘Kala Vachaspathi' for his echoing in dialogues. His Rutherford character in ‘Alluri Seetharama Raju’ film was also one of the reasons for its success, which had a 100-day run in 19-centres.
‘Priyuralu’ is his debut film as straight hero in to Telugu film industry, but this film has got boomed at box office. He played several roles such as hero, second lead, comedian and villain in several movies. He was the first Indian film actor to be elected as a member of parliament.
