First, they generated a hype since three years in the name of Sultan whose trailer was released in all theatres and some special release date of 12.12.12 that being the birth day of rajnikanth. this sultan never released and apparently it transformed into the character name itself as the movie title "Rana". this too generated lot of hype for an year and that project too got shelved. after four years, the same project sultan aka rana aka kochadayan was completed with lot of typical prerelease hype as if this is the first time such highest, costliest and most advanced motion capture technology is introduced in india and rajni used his best friend amitabh banchan to canvass and the Big B became a joker by predicting the indian movie industry would be known as before kochadayan and after kochadayan. shamefully, this praise of Big B is used in the movie itself in the beginning. now reality vs hype. a boring viewing of the movie till the end gives a rude shock on the faces of the kochadayan aka vikramasimha viewers and here are the observations told by many reviewers as well as viewers in the theatres: forget about latest technology of motion capture 3d, this animation movie is undisputedly the worst ever animated movie produced in this country so much so that the decades old family planning and nirodh animation ads seen on doordarshan were of much higher standard because in those animations at least the lips were moving whereas in kochadayan many characters speak but their lips do not move at all. kochadayan movie gave hope to the cenuturies old traditional puppet show (tolu bommala aata) and many cultural and traditional talent supporters are praising this movie of reviving the dying art of puppet show as viewers believed puppet shows are more lively than this dead nonmoving animation movie. in hollywood demonstrating extraordinary standards, living people act like zombies and michael jackson acted like a dead person zombie before the director of this movie was born, but this director strived successfuly in showing living characters as dead persons but bragged as if they showed dead animation characters as living ones. many famous indian reviewers out of fear of not attacking rajnikanth, praised saying that this movie is the first baby step (pasi adugulu) in the long crawl to reach the american standards of movie making and crypted satirically that soundya may need 25 to 30 more years to reach that high standard. Now, the real truth which any non blind person can see irrespective of language or state. last year, the best animated oscar winning hollywood movie was made a portion of it in hyderabad. many oscar winners and biggest grossers in hollywood animation movies had their works done within india since a decade and these dozens of films are household name in india. In all these great hollywood movies, made within india using indian talented staff, not only motion technology was used in the best desired manner, but it also showed emotions and not a single viewer of all these movies across the globe felt them as animated and lived like a real live experience. The lesson to be learnt is, when such highest standard movies are done with local talent within india, soundarya producing worst ever quality animation movie can be squarely attributed to hiring worst talent. yes, soundarya can find solace that she supported worst talent and hired inefficient staff and helped the underperforming low standard indians get jobs in her production.
