What would be the life time of a hero in the film industry? May be 10 or 15 years! But, here is a hero from the Telugu Film Industry who is been a star for the past Four decades in Tollywood. He is none other than Yuvaratna Nandamuri Balakrishna. Fondly called to as Balaiah Babu by his fans, Balakrishna is just completed 40 years in the film industry as an artiste. Balaiah is started his career way back in 1974 at a very tender age of just 14 years, with his debut from the film “Tatamma Kala”. As aware being the son of Tollywood’s legend Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao, Balakrishna stepped in continuing his father’s legacy as an actor. Later he acted as one of the heroes in films like “Ram Rahim” and “Annadammula Anubandham” co-starring with his father NTR sr. He is acted along with his father NTR in also a few films directed by his father like Dana Veera Sura Karna, Akbar Salim Anarkali, Sri Madvirata Parwam, Sri Tirupati Venkateswara Kalyanam, Sri Madvirat Veerabrahmendra Swamy Charitra and Brahmarshi Viswamitra. He is enacted great characters like those of Abhimanyu and Siddaiah, which have proved the stamina of his talent as an artiste. Balakrishna is turned into a full pledged hero with the film “Sahasame Jeevitham”. Films like Mangamma Gari Manavadu running for more than an year, Kathanayakudu, Anasuyamma Gari Alludu, Muddula Krishnaiah, Seetharama Kalyanam and so on going for a long list have made his career as a hero towards a star in the Telugu film industry. Balakrishna is popular for his roles a village boy and also in Mythological characters. His films, “Sri krishnarjuna Vijayam” have showed him best fit for both roles of Lord Krishna and Arjuna claiming a huge applause and being praised as a perfect replacement to his father in those roles. Even his recent mythological film “Sri Ramarajyam” with the noted director Bapu has been a perfect example to say how Balakrishna portrays the Mythological roles. The films like “Bhairava Dweepam”, “Aditya 369”, “Samarasimha Reddy”, “Narasimha Naidu”, “Simha” and the recent “Legend” have proven the power of Balakrishna tremendously at the box office in terms of collections. Even standing at an age of about 54 years, Balakrishna is still going very strong as a hero giving tough competition to all the star heroes existing in the Tollywood. Balakrishna is very near to the mile stone of his 100th film. Balaiah is just debuted in to politics contesting and winning for the first time as the MLA from Hindupur constituency of Anantapur district which can also be stated as his dual role in parallel with regular film acting. May be by the end of 2015, Balakrishna would be completing his stint of 100 films and may be making a way to his son Mokshagna to replace him as a hero from Nandamuri family.
