The makers of Baahubali have let out the prices of three territories so far. With out deciding if the figures are true or false, we will intercept those numbers and see how far the figures can be legitimate.
Nizam: The makers say Dil Raju has bagged the Nizam rights of Baahubali-1 for a whopping 25 Crores. It is quite common that distributor will add some profit margin before giving the product to buyers and exhibitors. Since most theaters in Nizam are leased with Dil Raju, lets say distributor is the buyer here and the break-even price is 25 Crores. Currently, Attarintiki Daredi is the biggest hit in Nizam territory. The movie has collected 23.25 Crore share in its full run which means Baahubali-1 have to be a new industry hit for break-even in Nizam.
Ceeded: Undisclosed distributor bagged the Ceeded rights of Baahubali-1 for a whopping 13 Crores. In Ceeded, there may not be a single lease. So the expenses and profit margins will be at least 2-3 Crore to begin with. So,the movie has to make 15-16 Crores for the distributor to be happy. Attarintiki Daredi is the biggest hit so far in Ceeded with 13 Crore share in its full run. So, Baahubali-1 has to set a new record here for distributor break-even.
Karnataka: Once again an undisclosed distributor bagged the Karnataka rights of the movie for a record 9 Crores. Magadheera is the movie which has a dream run in Karantaka. It collected 6 Crore share in its full run. Recent industry hit Attarintiki Daredi just managed 5.61 Crore there in its complete run. So, Baahubali-1 will have to do 50% more business than the current highest at least for break-even even after sparing the extra expenses and profit margins in the calculations.
