2014 so far seems to be an eventful for the Senior Heroes Balakrishna, Nagarjuna and Venkatesh. These ageing stars had a very tough over the years as audience shifted their favoritism on to the younger generation. Except for Venkatesh who impressed audience with some Multistarers and Balayya with Simha, there were no significant successes for them for the last 6-7 years. However things seem to be different this year. Balayya is again back in to the game with the blockbuster result of Legend. The movie has breached the 40 Crore share mark making Balayya the first Senior hero to touch the magical figure. Unlike Simha, Legend was seen appreciated by normal audience too and needless to say the actor is brimming with confidence and energy now.   Nagarjuna over the years is struggling to make a mark on audience. His looks permit him to make solo films but the fact his son is already in the ring. Audience constantly rejected Nagarjuna's films one after the other. Finally he staged a comeback with Akkineni family multistarer, Manam. Even though it has all the Akkineni heroes, Nagarjuna stole the show particularly in the role of Bittu. The movie collected 38 Crore share becoming the biggest commercial hit for any Akkineni hero. And lastly it is the turn of Venkatesh. The actor has been intelligently placing his career with multistarers and solo films. But the audience kept on rejecting him in the solo films. But Venky broke the shackles with Drishyam. The movie is getting unanimous positive talk and is expected to do well commercially too. Now, if Chiranjeevi makes his comeback and succeeds. Its going to be a new beginning for Tollywood seniors.
