Nagarjuna had completely grounded the hopes of Akkineni fans. He in the position of Oka Laila Kosam producer decided that the movie is postponed indefinitely. The movie which was earlier marked for September release will now probably release in November at the earliest according to the fans of Nagarjuna. September and October are super seasons for films and almost all big films have scheduled their release dates for those two months. Nagarjuna completely ignored the season and is opting for November release which is considered as dead season for films. Oka Laila Kosam had created a positive buzz for itself with the audio and the trailer released so far. People will almost forget everything about the film in this two months gap and there will be a negative feel surrounding the film when it releases in November. Akkineni fans are very much frustrated with this decision. An ardent fan of Akkineni family, Kiran venting his frustration said to APH, "It is not new for Akkinenis to ignore season and release in dull films. Manam released after Summer holidays and as a result the film which was supposed to collect 40 Crore plus ended up some where around 38 Crore. Oka Laila Kosam will also be killed in the bad season". Pooja Hegde is making her Telugu debut with this movie. PS Vinod will be cranking the camera and Anup Rubens will be scoring the music for this prestigious project. 'Oka Laila Kosam' is the song in ANR's 1983 film, Ramudu Kaadhu Krishnudu and this project is titled after that chart buster song. Naga Chaitanya had pinned high hopes on this film to propel in to the big league.
