South Indian actress Monika appeared as a child artiste, heroine and character artists in many Telugu and Tamil films tied knot yesterday. Recently she became a Muslim and changed the name to MG Rahima.
Monica alias Raheema after converted to Islam tied the knot with a Chennai- based entrepreneur Malik on Jan 11 2015 in Chennai. The marriage is said to be an arranged marriage. It is reported that Malik is the son of actress Monika's father's close friend. The nikkah, which was a low-key affair was held at Guindy Masjid, attended by family members and close relatives.
Monica, who had won Tamil Nadu State Award as a best child actor for her performance in Vijaykanth starrer En Aasai Machan, is known for few of the telugu films like Maa Alludu Very good;Siva Rama Raju;Koduku and Pandem Kodi.
The actress says hereafter she won't be acting in films. Monika also says that there is no selfishness in her decision to convert to Islam. Popular filmography of Monika is included with Suhasini Maniratnam’s directorial venture Indra and also a path breaking film Azhagi.With her decision to change Islam Mounica joined in likes of musicians AR Rahman and Yuvan Shankar Raja.
