Caste rivalry is not new for Telugu people or Telugu film industry. It existed since ages and will continue to exist in future too. Kamma domination is on the industry since many star heroes and producers belong to that caste. Kapus who are traditionally against Kammas in the real world started their own domination in industry with entry of Chiranjeevi and his rise as Megastar.
Chiranjeevi's family alone produced a bunch of star heroes paving way for Kapu domination. However since both the factions have enough strength, they mostly remained silent and got about their works. However the upcoming MAA elections have paved way for their open rivalry. Rajendra Prasad had announced his intention to become MAA President and Naga Babu extended his support to him on the behalf of Mega family. When every one expected him to get elected unanimously, Murali Mohan had brought the candidature of Jayasudha on to the scene.
The Kapu faction is behind Rajendra Prasad while Kamma faction is supporting Jayasudha. Murali Mohan from Kamma Community had worked for two terms for the association and so Kapu community is not accepting the dominance of Kammas in the association further and so they are keen on going for election. Needless to say, Kammas are not ready to accept that.
Jayasudha will be filing her nomination today. On the other side, the Senior members of the Association are trying for Unanimous election. Rajendra Prasad previously contested against Murali Mohan and lost the election. He wanted to win now at any cost. We will have to see where this caste war leads to!
