It is now confirmed that Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan will be going behind the bars and spend five years there for a crime which he committed almost 13 years ago. This jail sentence can derail some of Bollywood’s most prized projects if India’s most bankable actor is put behind bars.Salman Khan is one of the most commercially bankable stars in a hit-starved film industry.
Bollywood Superstar goes to jail
In the last five years his films such as Dabangg, Dabangg 2, Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger and Kick have found a place in Bollywood’s list of highest-grossing films. Now as the Bollywood Superstar goes to jail projects worth 200 Crore are in trouble as he committed to films until 2017.
Salman Khan head to jail and appeal in Bombay high court
Salman Khan has two big films lined up for release this year. Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan which releases in July and Sooraj Barjatya’s Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo which is slated for Diwali release. He has also committed to several other projects, including Karan Johar’s “Shuddhi”, Anees Bazmee’s “No Entry Mein Entry” and Ali Abbas Zafar’s “Sultan”. Since the quantum of sentence is more than 3 years, Salman Khan will head to jail and then have to appeal in Bombay high court.
