The discussion about the director of Chiranjeevi's 150th film was on for about 2 years. We have seen numerous names doing rounds in the rumour mills and finally, Puri Jagannadh was the chosen one. However many still wonder how Puri was chosen. Here is the story revealed by Puri himself.
Chiranjeevi got busy
"Five years ago, Big B convinced Chiranjeevi for a comeback and recommended my name as the director of the film. The incident was forgotten and we are back to work. Chiranjeevi got busy with his political commitments", Puri said.
Puri revealed in an interview
"One day, I got a call from Chiranjeevi and asked to come to his office. He sits there with a paper and list of directors names written on it. My name is highlighted on it. He told me I am the chosen one and I hugged him immediately", Puri revealed in an interview.
Puri was a delighted man in getting this opportunity, "He has a soft corner on me since the start. He even chose me for directing debut project of his son, Ram Charan. I am very delighted now and I am not feeling any pressure dealing the land mark film". The film will have a grand launch on 22nd August on Chiranjeevi's 60th Birthday.
