Telugu Film industry stalwart and Former Minister of State for Coal during the UPA regime, Dasari Narayana Rao just managed to evade arrest in Multi-Crore Coal Scam that took place during his time. CBI and ED primarily established that Dasari took several decisions against the interests of the nation in coal mine allocations.

Dasari just missed arrest


In return, the benefited companies invested in the companies belonging to Dasari as Quid Pro Quo deal. Every one expected that Dasari will certainly go behind the bars in this case. However the Patiala Court in Delhi gave anticipatory bail to Dasari and all other accused in the case. They were asked to submit personal guarantee bonds of One Lakh as surety and were not allowed to fly out of the country with out the court's permission.

Even though Dasari is the MoS of Coal then, the Coal ministry was primarily held by the then Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh. Dasari constantly maintained that he always obeyed the orders of the Prime Minister and have nothing to do with this case or the allegations. 15 individuals including five firms are the accused in the case for alleged offences under sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy) read with 420 (cheating) of IPC and under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
